Player guideTarget health and damage display
Target health and damage display
When you attack a mob or player, their name and remaining health appear in the action bar at the bottom of your screen. This feature uses the HitHealth plugin.
It supports both Java Edition and Bedrock Edition.
How the display works
When your attack hits a mob or player, the display appears for 2 seconds on your screen. Each new attack updates the target and refreshes the display time.
Zombie ❤ 12.0/20.0 (-8.0)
It works for direct attacks with weapons such as swords, projectiles such as bows, crossbows, and tridents, and attacks by pets such as tamed wolves.
Attacking an armor stand does not trigger the display.
What the display shows
Along with the target’s name and remaining health, the display shows the damage dealt by your latest attack.
Target name
Named mobs display their custom name. Unnamed mobs display their mob type in your own game’s language.
Health numbers
1 health point equals half a heart, so 20.0 is 10 hearts. Defeated targets show 0.0.
Damage dealt
The final (-8.0) is the health damage dealt by the latest attack. It excludes damage absorbed by absorption hearts and any damage beyond the target’s remaining health.
Percentage and color
The health text changes color according to the remaining proportion.
| Health remaining | Color |
|---|---|
| Half or more | Green |
| At least one quarter, but less than half | Yellow |
| Less than one quarter | Red |
Turning the display on or off
You can toggle the display for yourself if you do not need it.
